It’s one thing to know the truth, another thing to speak the truth, and an entirely different thing to receive it.

In a world that often values affirmation over transformation, we’re reminded that truth and love were never meant to be enemies. Truth without love becomes a weapon, but love without truth becomes compromise.

Spiritual maturity means having the courage to speak truth with compassion and the humility to receive correction when it challenges us. Because sometimes the people who love us most are the ones willing to tell us what we need to hear.

"You cannot grow beyond the truth you refuse to receive."If we want to become fully devoted followers of Jesus, we must be willing to let His truth change us, not just agree with us.

The question is: "Can you handle the truth when it confronts you?"

What You Refuse to Surrender Will Eventually Require You to Sacrifice | Pastor Nathan Green

Sometimes we spend so much time asking God to change the people around us that we miss what He wants to change within us.

The greatest fight isn’t always against the person next to you. Sometimes it’s against the "pride, jealousy, bitterness, control, and desires" battling inside of us.

James reminds us that God gives grace to the humble. The answer isn’t to win the argument or prove our point—it’s to "surrender, draw near to God, and allow Him to change our hearts."

Because the goal isn’t just to stop being the problem. "The goal is to become more like Jesus."

What if instead of praying, "God, change them," we started praying, “God, search me.”
